Suske & Wiske - VISIT KALMTHOUT

Technical development, production and assembly of 3D printed images with a steel frame.

Commissioned by Oostkaai, we produced various scale models for VISIT KALMTHOUT.

This image is fully 3D printed in PLA. To strengthen the structure, a metal frame was used on which the parts are attached.

Suske's back and legs are supported by a stainless steel frame that consists of scaffolding tubes with accompanying connectors. To keep the weight low, Wiske's frame was made of aluminum.

The head is printed in white PLA, then the layer lines are removed.

After rough equalization, the parts are pushed over the frame and then glued, gaps are then filled with putty
