For the Antwerp jewelry house Elliot & Ostrich, Antistatic designed and produced an exclusive earring stand with embedded logo, fully aligned with the brand identity.
The object was manufactured via resin 3D printing in a high-quality UV resin and then manually finished: sanding, smoothing, spray paint in a wood look (chocolate brown with black accents) and finish with glossy varnish against scratches.
In order to get started as quickly as possible, we first purchased a basic package of 6 ears.
These 3D models provide a relatively easy and adaptable starting point in Blender3D.

The shape of the back plate has been procedurally designed with a wave modifier.
In that area, we then applied a boolean modifier to maintain the straight edges.
After the rough shape was approved, the details were manually applied in sculpt mode.
This shape is based on a jawline.

After the first test, the different earrings were tested on the prototype.

This showed that the ear was still too thick for the closures; the grooves in the ear also had to be hollowed out deeper.
Furthermore, there was not enough space to work easily behind the ear.
After the new 3D model was drawn up, it was time to print the final versions.
This time with the Elliot & Ostrich logo added to the back plate.

The last step was to spray paint the specific color: black-brown wood.
Before we can start painting, the model must be completely sanded, then it is leveled with filler.

To obtain the requested color, we first sprayed 2 layers of chocolate brown, then applied black in several layers.
This creates different degrees within the dark color that mimics the wooden effect.

After the painted prototype was approved, the final models were painted in the same way.
Finally, these models are also varnished with glossy finish.
This protects the stands from scratches while taking earrings in and out.
