For Coopervision, we had to design a shopping cart coin for one of their customers with the Lammerant logo on the front and the Coopervison logo on the back.
The challenge was to make the letters on the front readable and printable without making the design look messy.
To get the detailed shopping cart coin properly produced, we have the layer width reduced to .3 mm instead of the original .44mm. This ensures that the letters are printed with two walls. This ensures a strong connection with the basic shape and a strong end result.
Converting Coopervision's complex logo into a balanced 3D drawing was the next challenge. To translate the shades of color into a printable form, we have classified them by color value. Based on that, we have cut out successive platforms.
The coins are produced locally with black Makerfill filament from 3D&I.
